School Tour Trek Experience
A school tour with a difference. The Alpaca School Tour Trek Experience is suitable for age’s 8 and upwards (8 & 9 year old’s are unable to lead their own alpaca but can accompany an adult). It is suitable for all fitness levels and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The Alpaca School Tour Trek Experience is approximately 1.5 hours in length. We share our story and give you a handling talk before we go out. You will then be paired up with one of our lovely alpacas which you will be accompanying for the duration of the trek.

From €250.00. (We charge mileage (travel to and from your School/Montessori) at 75 c/km for the first 100km)
Minimum of 10 persons per group
We ask for at least 2 teachers to accompany the group (free of charge)

Take your own alpaca for a walk on a lead. We walk at alpaca pace which can be quite gentle. We pair each person with an alpaca and we walk in convoy as alpacas like to stick together!

It was a school visit for my sons school, everyone had a great time, and Alpaca Joe was absolutely fantastic with handling all those questions from the little ones, and we can’t get over how calm and well-behaved Ted & Eoghan were. I am sure it will not be the last time to book a visit or maybe next time do the tricking on the Mountains.
Joe, Ted & Eoghan have become part of the Glenone Montessori family. Every visit, usually one visit each month, throughout the past many years is always magical. We are absolutely blessed to have them!
The staff is great with kids & alpacas are so loved and looked after. We got Eoin assigned for a walk & that boy is the sweetest for company. Definitely will be doing it again.
My family took part in the kids experience – feeding the alpacas – and it was just awesome. Our 3 years old was a bit afraid at first, but then found courage and enjoyed cuddling one of the alpacas. To me, it was a fun and simultaneously relaxing experience.
Great experience up at K2 alpacas. The toddler (2yrs old) loved every minute as did the adults! Very informative. The alpacas are extremely friendly. Would highly recommend the experience.

Alpaca Trekking with K2Alpacas is a unique enjoyable experience that will leave you with memories that will last long after you leave us. The Trek Experience is suitable for age’s 8 and upwards (8 & 9 year olds are unable to lead their own alpaca but can accompany an adult). It is suitable for all fitness levels and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
The Alpaca Trek Experience is approximately 1.5 hours in length. We share our story and give you a handling talk before we go out. You will then be paired up with one of our lovely alpacas which you will be accompanying for the duration of the trek. Once you get to know each other, we will set off on the trek. Along the way, you will get a chance to feed your alpaca by hand (don’t worry, they don’t bite!) and to take loads of photos and selfies. We finish off the trek with a visit to our ‘all alpaca’ Farm Shop.

Please note! This appointment is not guaranteed, we will confirm the availability for the chosen date and time. In case of a fully booked appoinment, we will propose an alternative date and time. Payment will not be taken until the booking is confirmed.
We ask for 50% deposit to secure your booking and then full payment is needed 2 weeks before the trek event

Car Directions
Google Maps, SatNavs or Apple Maps can take you on unsafe roads. Best directions are:
Heading South from Dublin
on M11/N11 take Exit 12, signposted Newtownmounkennedy. Turn right at Church (The Church will be on your right). Follow road, go straight through roundabout, past GAA pitches on right & continue up the hill for 4.5 km. Continue to top of hill, opposite a left-hand turn signpost, is a small cul-de-sac (lane). Turn right here to arrive at our gate.
Heading North towards Dublin
on M11/N11, take Exit 16 R772 for Ashford and follow road into village. Use your SatNav from here. After you cross over the bridge, take a left at the roundabout. Follow this round for 6.5km, take a right at Ballyduff Cross, signposted for Newtownmountkennedy L1051 road. Approx 2km just after a Y in the road you will see a left turn into a lane. Turn Left this will bring you to our gate.
(Our Eircode A63 DX08 will take you on the correct route once you follow our directions above.
Open gate, come in and close gate securely after you enter. Follow signs to carpark.

Public Transport Directions
Take the Bus Eireann 133 bus and ask to be let off in Newtownmountkennedy at the Park View Hotel. You can also get the Go Ahead Ireland Route 184 from Bray or Greystones. We are located 4.5km from the Church. You can arrange for a taxi to collect you from Newtownmountkennedy, please see list above.
The TFI Local Link Route No 183 runs from Arklow to Sallins and passes by close to us. Ask the drive to get off at BallyDuff Cross and walk towards Newtownmountkennedy to find us on the left.
